Proverbs 9:12
“If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, and if you scoff, you alone will bear it.”
We live in a world of “who can I blame for my mistakes”. What we forget is even when you make a wise choice- it’s yours. It’s not mine or anyone else’s.
You will have positive results from your good decision.
However- a bad choice has the same parameters. If you choose unwisely- it’s on you. You can try to blame others but the truth is-
everybody knows it was you.
And you own the consequences. This is the piece I see missing today. People fail but they don’t want any negative reactions. It just can’t be their fault.
The Bible is filled with examples from Cain killing Abel up to the Pharisees killing Jesus. No one wanted to admit they did wrong.
This proverb is simply reminding us that we own what we do- both good and bad. What we must also remember is that what we do reflects our faith in Jesus.
May we always be a positive witness.
