Good Tuesday
1 Chronicles 15:16
“Then David spoke to the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their relatives the singers, with instruments of music, harps, lyres, loud-sounding cymbals, to raise sounds of joy.”
I grew up in a home filled with music. Mom on the piano and Dad on his guitar. They both had beautiful voices so there was always singing and instruments playing.
I’m old enough to use the words- records on the record player. There were records playing all the time.
Musicals- Big Band- Spike Jones (only legends will know )- classical- but most of the time- Gospel music of all kinds. My Dad loved Mahalia Jackson.
My Mom loved George Beverly Shea.
Music fed me back then and it still does today. The Holy Spirit moves in music.
There are songs we sing at different points in our lives. Good times and bad.
Music feeds us.
Music was a huge part of worship during the reign of King David. He was a musician so he surrounded himself with talented musicians and singers.
God is honored with our worship music and praise. If it glorifies God and Jesus- it is worthy of our talents.
So keep listening- and playing- and singing for the Lord.
